Community Garden

Located off Greenlee Ford Road across from the Catawba River Soccer Complex

The Morganton Parks and Recreation Department provides plots of land for residents to grow vegetables. Plots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and residents must pay a $20.00 application fee. The garden is open during growing season.

The City plows and tills the garden every year and provides the following for gardeners:

  • hoes, rakes, shovels, pitchforks, hoses
  • a small tiller, a large tiller, weed eater, lawn mower, and the gas and oil for the equipment
  • straw for mulching
  • water

Gardeners must provide their own fertilizer plants, seeds, and pesticides.
