Public comes out to learn about plans for Soccer Complex

More than 50 people showed up to the Collett Street Recreation Center Thursday night to learn about plans for additions to the Catawba River Soccer Complex and give their input.

The City of Morganton Parks and Recreation Department hopes to add two more regulation fields to the complex, additional parking, more greenway trail, a championship croquet course, and a 1.4 acre expansion to the dog park. The new fields could host regulation soccer, football, and ruby games,


Council approves upgrades to Morganton Community House

The Morganton City Council approved making upgrades to the Morganton Community House infrastructure and kitchen Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2015, taking the first steps in a public/private renovation project to overhaul the facility to meet the needs and expectations of today's guests.
